When Jumbo Transport decided to open an office in Finland, Jacob Ravn already had a strong connection to the country, he was living in Helsinki at the time. As the company expanded its operations northward, he began exploring potential office locations near the airport. Several options were on the table, but the decision quickly became clear.
“Some of the areas felt quite isolated,” Jacob recalls. “But the airport area just made sense. Everything is close by, there’s a grocery store, several restaurants, the departure hall, and most importantly, people. You’re in the middle of it all.”
Jumbo Transport’s Finnish office found its home at the airport itself, in a bright corner office that regularly draws compliments from visitors.
“When people fly into Helsinki and I tell them to stop by the office, they’re always impressed,” Jacob says. “They walk in and go: wow, this is a great space.”
For Jacob, the energy of the location plays a key role. “As a Dane, I’m quite social. I enjoy being in a place where you can see life happening around you. Even at my home office, I sit so that I can see people walking by on the street. That might be a bit different from the typical Finnish way,” he laughs.
The location has also made a real difference in business. “Being based at the airport makes it easy for international contacts to drop in, it’s a convenient and natural meeting point,” Jacob explains. “It’s an international environment, and for a freight forwarding company like ours, it’s crucial to have a strong professional presence at a key logistics hub. We’re perfectly positioned for airfreight and still not far from Finland’s main seaport either.”
Jacob says that even though he’s been a tenant for many months now, he still genuinely enjoys being there. He always looks forward to coming to his office — his second home — and is a big fan of this new type of office environment.
In addition, the area offers excellent transport connections by train and bus, making it easy to reach from anywhere in the Helsinki region and beyond.
For companies considering an office near Helsinki Airport, Jumbo Transport’s story is a reminder that location isn’t just about logistics—it’s about being part of a dynamic, connected environment.
